Nolan Bird scored 17 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and had three blocks in leading the Drury High School boys basketball team to its first win of the season, 59-52, over Monument Mountain.

Isaiah Pantoja contributed 14 points for Drury (1-1), which withstood a fourth-quarter comeback drive by the Spartans, who outscored the Devils by a margin of 18-12 in the final frame.

Bird also had five assists to lead the Devils, who got three assists each from Pantoja and Kareen Beckett.
