WHITINSVILLE, Mass. – Career 2,000-point scorer Bri Frongillo Friday scored 48 points to lead the third-seeded Hopedale girls basketball team to a 60-29 win over Lee in the quarter-finals of the Division 5 State Tournament.

Emma Puleri scored 14 points, and Caroline Maloney added 10 for the Wildcats.

“We ran into a great player who played a great game tonight,” Lee coach Rick Puleri said. “I’m proud of my girls. They had a great season and showed up and played hard every night and that’s all I could ask of them.”

Lee finishes the season with a record of 18-6.

Hopedale moves on to face Springfield International Charter, a 50-49 winner over Drury on Friday night, in the state semi-finals.
