Lewis Leads Spartans Past Drury

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Natalie Lewis scored 13 points Wednesday to lead the Monument Mountain girls basketball team to a 39-22 win over Drury.
 
Elee Hull scored seven, and Abby Dohoney added five for the Spartans (3-10), who snapped a seven-game losing streak.
 
The key was Monument Mountain's defense, which held the Blue Devils to seven second-half points after going into half-time down 15-10.
 
"We really dug in defensively in the second half," Monument Mountain coach Randy Koldys said. :We had our best overall game of the year.  It was a total team effort."
 
Kayla McGrath scored eight points to lead Drury.
 
The Blue Devils (1-4) go to Wahconah on Thursday.
 
Monument Mountain hosts Mount Everett on Thursday.
