CHESHIRE, Mass. -- When two teams combine for 71 foul shots in 32 minutes, you know you're in for a long day at the gymnasium.

Saturday was even longer for the Drury High School girls.

Hampshire made 16 of 20 fourth-quarter foul shots to erase a nine-point deficit and take a 50-48 win from the Blue Devils in the second game of the seventh annual Berkshire County Girls Basketball Coaches vs. Cancer Showcase.

Hampshire (10-1) made 26 of 40 free throws in the game, while Drury (5-7) went 19-for-31 in a game that featured more fouls than field goals.

The Blue Devils led most of the afternoon.

After Amber Iacuessa capped a 12-0 run with a 3-pointer to make it 12-3 in the middle of the first quarter, Hampshire got no closer than four points until it rallied back to start the third quarter.

A couple of putbacks by Hampshire freshman Katie O'Connor were the key to an 11-0 run that erased most of a 13-point Drury lead.

Molly Moulton (11 points) drove the baseline for a bucket to break a long scoring drought and get the lead to 34-30. But it was a two-point game going to the fourth.

Drury quickly re-established most of its lead, getting it back to a nine-point cushion when Moulton scored three straight at the foul line following a two-shot foul and technical to make it 45-36.

But Hampshire scored 14 of the next 15 to lead, 50-46 with 13.7 seconds left.

All but two of those points came at the line. The exception was a lay-up by Hampshire guard Chelsea Moussette.

Moulton drove the lane to score and cut it to two with 5.9 on the clock. But after Hampshire missed a couple of foul shots with 4.4 seconds left, Drury, which was out of timeouts, could not get off a shot to try to tie it.

Sarah Lamarre scored 12 points for Drury. Emily Moulton had seven rebounds.

Bri Weltich scored 20, and O'Connor had 14 rebounds for Hampshire.

Drury hosts Taconic on Tuesday.
