Drury Girls Win Playoff Opener on the Road

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Molly Moulton scored 16 points — all at the foul line — to lead the Drury High School girls basketball team to a 49-39 win over Monument Mountain in the first round of the Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament on Monday night.
 
Emily Moulton scored 11 — six at the line — for Drury (10-11), which also got nine from Olivia Carlson in advancing to Thursday's quarter-final round.
 
Heather Hassett scored 13 for the Spartans (7-12), who scored 15 in the fourth quarter but could not come all the way back.
 
Drury beat Monument for the third time this season and won for the second time in three games.
 
The ninth-seeded Blue Devils now head to Springfield to take on top-seed Sabis (17-5), which had a first-round bye. Their quarter-final game will be Thursday at 7 p.m.
