NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Isabella Meadows scored 19 points Wednesday to lead the Pope Francis girls basketball team to a 28-20 win over McCann Tech.

The Cardinals took control in the second quarter, outscoring the Hornets, 18-5, to take a 21-14 lead into half-time.

“Heartbreak loss,” McCann Tech coach Kathy Budaj said. “Playing short-handed,  the girls gave everything they had.

“Having Macey get in foul trouble in the second quarter hurt because we had to sit her for a long time. We played a great game and will keep plugging away.”

Tatro scored a team-high 11 points. Hannah Boisvert added eight.

McCann Tech (3-8) goes to Sci-Tech on Thursday.
