NORTH ADAMS, Mass — The McCann Tech girls' basketball team had too much to handle with South Hadley on Friday night, losing 53-25 at home to a Tigers' squad that put 10 different players into the scoring column.

The Hornets (4-9) fell behind quickly courtesy of South Hadley's 14-4 run in the first quarter. The visitors increased their lead to 18 points at halftime, and McCann never really challenged in the second half. Senior guard Ashley Alibozek scored all of her nine points from behind the arc for the Hornets, who also received nine points from junior Mary Nguyen

Tess Gauthier was the leading scorer for the Tigers with nine points as well. McCann next hosts Mount Greylock at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
