LENOX, Mass. – Emma Goewey scored 23 points, and Emily Steuernagle scored five in overtime to lead the Mount Everett girls basketball team to a 47-43, come-from-behind victory over Lenox on Wednesday night.

Goewey scored nine points in the fourth quarter, when the Eagles (4-10) outscored the Millionaires, 16-7, to tie the game 41-41.

“I think the telling tale of our season is we like to make games harder on ourselves more than we need too, but today we were able to find a way to battle back after trailing for 30 minutes of the game and found a way to win,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. :By no means has our game been perfect all season but these girls will battle and have really been in every game this season except for two, which is a testament to how hard they continue to work and fight.”

Steuernagle finished with eight points, and Julia Devoti scored seven in the victory.

“We had a lot of girls step up today and once we started buying into making defensive stops and taking higher percentage shots the tide of the game pivoted in our direction,” King said. “Proud of the effort and willingness to keep working and we have a quick turnaround with a game tomorrow versus Renaissance and then finish the week with Franklin Tech.”

Chloe Doyle scored 10 points to lead Lenox, which got nine apiece from Jocelyn Fairfield and Tabor Paul.

The Millionaires (5-10) go to Monument Mountain on Friday.
