PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Taconic girls' basketball team played one of its best games of the season on Saturday, but it was Belchertown which made the most of its free-throw attempts in overtime to pull out a 60-58 win on the road.

The Orioles received a game-high 28 points and four 3-pointers from Tea Spellacy and pulled away in the extra period by building up a five-point lead. The game was as close as could be before that point. The Braves, which fell to 1-11 with their ninth straight loss on Saturday, led 14-13 at the end of the first quarter. Belchertown came back to tie the game at 23 points apiece at halftime, however, and neither team was able to separate themselves from the other over the next two quarters.

Sophomore forward Brianna Rogers had one of her best games of the season for Taconic, flirting with a double-double with 16 points and eight rebounds. Junior guard Angela O'Neil scored all 12 of her points from behind the arc, while classmate Kirsten McNeice chipped in with nine points and a team-high seven assists.

The Braves next host Mount Greylock at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
