Three in Double Figures for Mount Everett Girls in Road Win

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Gwendolyn Carpenter scored 19 of her 28 points in the second half, and the Mount Everett girls basketball team Friday defeated Taconic, 66-59.
 
Carpenter was just one of three players to finish in double figures for the Eagles, who won their fourth straight to improve to 8-5 this winter.
 
Madison Ullrich scored 16, and Marion Devoti had 10 in the win. Madeline Von Ruden chipped in with seven.
 
For Taconic, which led, 31-29, at half-time, Ayannah Moody scored 18 and had three assist, and Ashley Rufo had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Tamia Patrick scored eight, and Rianna Gittens and Aubrey Lazits each had 10 rebounds.
 
Taconic (4-9) goes to Hoosac Valley on Monday.
 
Mount Everett Saturday has the first of two straight against key Berkshire County South Division games against Drury, which has won three straight and five of its last seven.
