Field Scores 25 to Lead Hoosac Valley Girls Back to Cage

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Sarah Field hit seven 3-pointers on the way to a 25-point night as the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team beat Granby, 56-47, in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament on Friday.
 
Third-seeded Hoosac Valley (15-6) trailed, 27-22, at half-time of its first game after a nine-day layoff.
 
But Averie McGrath scored six points in a 14-8 third quarter to help Hoosac take a one-point lead.
 
In the fourth, Field connected three times from beyond the arc, and Riley Robinson went 4-for-5 at the foul line and scored six points as the Hurricanes ran away with the win.
 
Hoosac Valley Wednesday goes to Curry Hicks Cage in Amherst to face No. 2 Hampshire Regional (14-7), a 73-41 winner over South Hadley on Thursday.
