McGrath, Hoosac Valley Girls Avenge Loss to Amherst

AMHERST, Mass. – Averie McGrath scored 21 points Saturday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team to a 66-56 win over Amherst-Pelham.
 
The Hurricanes (15-2) jumped out to a 21-7 lead in the first quarter en route to avenging one of their two losses this season.
 
McGrath had seven points in the first quarter and finished the game 8-for-9 at the foul line.
 
Gabby Billetz scored 12 points, and Ashlyn Lesure added 11. Taylor Garabedian and Rylynn Witek scored eight points apiece.
 
Delaney Macphetres scored 16 points Saturday to lead Amherst.
 
Hoosac Valley (15-2) goes to Monson on Tuesday.
