Furlong Scores 23 as Wahconah Girls Get First Win

SOUTH DEERFIELD, Mass. -- The Wahconah girls basketball team Monday stormed out to a 17-3 lead in the first quarter and never looked back in beating Frontier, 54-28, for its first win of the season.
 
Noelle Furlong scored 23 points with five 3-pointers. She hit a pair of 3s and scored eight points in that first quarter.
 
Maria Gamberoni scored 10 points, and Jilly Cote had eight in the win.
 
Wahconah (1-1) is scheduled to host Mount Greylock on Tuesday.
