Sharp-Shooting Wahconah Girls Edge Frontier

DALTON, Mass. -- The Wahconah girls basketball team combined for 10 3-pointers -- 68 percent of its offense -- and held off a fourth-quarter comeback bid by Frontier for a 44-43 win on Tuesday night.
 
Ashley Zink and Emmy Cote tied for team-high honors with 12 points apiece. Cote scored all her points from behind the arc; Zink made three 3s and three foul shots.
 
Kenna McIlquham had a pair of 3s in an eight-point night, and Amelia Dougherty added a triple
 
Frontier trailed by six going into the fourth quarter, and Wahconah was able to hold on for its first win of the season.
 
Wahconah (1-1) hosts Lee on Friday night.
