CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Ashley Zink sank four 3-pointers on the way to a 16-point night Saturday as the Wahconah girls basketball team beat Granby, 66-35, in the Berkshire County Coaches vs. Cancer Basketball Showcase at Hoosac Valley High School.

Wahconah (5-5) used a big run in each of the first three quarters to put the game away.

In the first, a 15-2 spurt gave the designated home team a 19-3 lead. McKenna McIlquham had two 3-pointers on her way to an eight-point first quarter.

In the second quarter, Zink started to take over in a 10-1 run.

The senior guard started things by assisting on Emmy Cote’s 3-pointer and ended the run with a 3-pointer of her own and a bucket in transition to make it 38-13.

Wahconah went to the locker room up, 45-19, and came out with an 11-0 run to finish things off.

Cassie Tobler had a basket and an assist during the third run, which ended with a putback by Kelly McMahon.

McMahon finished with 12 points, and Abbie Steinman scored 10.  O’Connor led the way with six rebounds, and McMahon, O’Connor and Tobler each had three assists.
