GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- A stellar night by sophomore captain Lucy Barrett couldn't prevent the Mount Greylock girls' basketball team from dropping its fourth straight game on Wednesday. Barrett sank a trio of 3-pointers on her way to a season-high 26 points, but the Mounties faded in the fourth quarter to lose 60-52 to Monument Mountain.

Greylock (4-10) has faced a tough schedule over its past four games but was able to hang tough with an improving Spartans' squad for most of the game on Wednesday. Paul Barrett's team trailed by five points after the first quarter but rallied back to even the score by halftime. Monument (7-6) then pulled ahead by two points by the end of the third quarter and sealed the victory with solid free-throw shooting and a 22-point outburst in the fourth.

Samantha White led the Spartans with a team-high 18 points. Barrett added four rebounds and a team-high three assists for the Mounties, while fellow captain Mackenzie Flynn chipped in with nine points and team-high eight boards.

Greylock returns to action on Monday with a road game against Taconic at 7:30 p.m.
