SHEFFIELD, Mass. — After four straight wins to begin the season, Saint Joseph’s loses its first game of the season in a 49-35 defeat to Mount Everett on the road.

The Crusaders (4-1) were outscoring opponents by an average of 17 points, entering the game, but the Eagles ran out to a 29-14 first half lead that they did not relinquish.

Kendall Smith registered a double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds) while Keegan McCauley finished with 11 points.
