Conyers, Taconic Girls Clinch North Title

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Ciany Conyers had a triple double Wednesday night as the Taconic girls basketball team wrapped up the school’s first Berkshire County North Division title since 2006 with an 80-25 win over Monument Mountain.
 
Conyers scored 14 points, made 11 steals and passed out 10 assists to help Taconic finish the regular season 18-2 overall and 12-1 in the league, taking the title outright from Hoosac Valley, which went 11-2 in the league.
 
Faith Cross scored a game-high 21, and three other Taconic players finished in double figures. Tamia Patrick scored 15, Ahliya Phillips had 14 and Taea Bramer scored 11. Patrick also had eight rebounds.
 
Maya Cooney scored 10, and Abby Dohoney had eight for the Spartans, who finish the year 4-16 (1-11).
 
Taconic learns Saturday where and against whom it will open play in the Western Massachusetts Division 2 tournament.
