Phillips Leads Taconic Girls Past Monument Mountain

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Ahliya Phillips scored 17 points Friday to lead the Taconic girls basketball team to a 53-26 win over Monument Mountain.
 
Taconic took a 27-11 lead into half-time, but the Spartans battled back with the first five points of the second half.
 
But Taconic pulled away with an 11-2 run and never looked back.
 
Kendra Buda backed up Phillips with 14 points. Ciany Conyers and Faith Cross added nine and eight, respectively, in the win.
 
Monument Mountain got 12 points from Abby Dohoney.
 
The Spartans (4-13) play Mount Greylock on Sunday.
 
Taconic (2-2) goes to Mount Everett on Saturday.
