Furlong, Wahconah Girls Top Pittsfield

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Noelle Furlong scored 18 points Saturday to lead the Wahconah girls basketball team to a 59-48 win over over Pittsfield.
 
Maria Gamberoni scored 17, and Jilly Cote added 15 in the win.
 
Wahconah led, 24-14, at half-time after holding the Generals to just two points in the second quarter.
 
It then stretched its lead in a high-scoring, 22-17, third period.
 
Alexi Sondrini tied for game-high honors with 18 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Jordyn Lummus had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds and passed out six assists.
 
The Generals (9-10) need a win on Monday at Mount Anthony Union in Vermont to reach the tournament.
 
Wahconah (15-4) finishes the regular season at Granby on Wednesday.
