The Mill Town Foundation has committed funding for each of the 40 Under Forty recipients to re-grant $1,000 to a Berkshire-based nonprofit organization of their choice.
The College's Student Engagement Center will be hosting these events for students, led by the College's Coordinator of Student Diversity Programs and Belonging, Erica Barreto.
The scholarship supports students who are ineligible for federal aid due to their citizenship status. Such students include those who are undocumented, immigrants, refugees, or hold J-1 visas for exchange visitors.
This news was celebrated in Berkshire Community College's SIM lab on Monday with legislators, students, and staff. College President Ellen Kennedy explained that the new program allows students to attend nursing and pre-nursing programs for free.
The performances will be held in the Robert Boland Theatre, located on BCC's main campus at 1350 West Street, Pittsfield. Run time is approximately 1 hour, 40 minutes.

Berkshire Community College (BCC), the first community college established in the Commonwealth and now one of 15 across the state, will directly benefit from the funding directed to these programs.
President Ellen Kennedy led Driscoll through the college's One Stop Center for student services, the Berkshire Science Commons maker space, BCC's nursing labs, and renovations to the Hawthorne and Melville halls.
Financial aid, admissions and advising staff will be on hand to help students enroll at BCC, potentially for free through the Commonwealth's MassReconnect program.
A variety of learning options are offered, including in-person, online and hybrid. Prospective students may register any time online, or by walking in without an appointment to the One Stop Center.
The NPS program was developed as an opportunity to offer students studying the sciences an associate in science degree that included meta-major style pathways in biology, biotechnology, chemistry and physics.
