Councilors John Krol and Helen Moon are asking Berkshire Medical Center for $1 million.
The pair has filed a petition with the City Council asking for the sum through the execution of a payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) agreement. Krol says the total is a quarter of what the hospital would have paid for all of its tax-exempt properties should those real estate holdings be taxes at the commercial rate.
Dr. Rana is accepting new patients in need of endocrinology and metabolism services and is partnered with doctors Brian Phillips and Krithi Ramesh and nurse practitioners Robyn Korte and Roberta Mansen at Endocrinology & Metabolism of BMC.
The Brien Center celebrated the opening of a recovery shelter specifically for women.
The center, in partnership with Berkshire Health Systems, opened the 17-bed center knows as the Keenan House for Women in October on Seymour Street. It will serve women recovering from addiction during the early stages of rehabilitation.
Individuals should not visit patients at any of these facilities if they are under 18 years of age or they are ill or are experiencing flu or flu-like symptoms. These symptoms include fever, chills, body aches, cough or fatigue.
