Karen Boyer Joins Legacy Banks as North Adams Branch Manager

Legacy Banks has welcomed Karen T. Boyer as Assistant Vice President and Branch Officer for the North Adams Office at 331 State Road, according to an announcement by Angela Motler, senior vice president of branch administration. Boyer comes to Legacy with over 20 years of banking experience, most recently at South Adams Savings Bank where she was a branch officer since 2001. In her new role, Boyer will be responsible for leading the Legacy Banks North Adams branch team in building customer relationships and continuing to ensure outstanding customer service for clients throughout northern Berkshire County. “We are so pleased to have Karen on board at one of our newest state-of-the-art offices,” said Motler. “Her vast experience in retail banking, consumer lending, sales and branch management will serve us well as we continue to grow in northern Berkshire and beyond, she added.” Prior to working at South Adams Savings, Boyer served in a variety of capacities over 15 years at First Massachusetts Bank, now TD Banknorth. A graduate of local schools, she is a lifelong resident of North Adams and is active with the local community including the C.H. McCann Business Partner Program and Northern Berkshire United Way. She previously served on the Education Committee of the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce. Boyer has completed numerous banking and leadership programs and serves as a teacher for Junior Achievement and the FDIC Money Smart Program. She resides in North Adams with her husband David and two children Nicholas and Shannon.

SteepleCats Shut Out on Road

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Four Vermont pitchers combined to strike out 11 and allow four hits Tuesday as the Mountaineers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Evan Meier, Bobby Stang, Tonny Woodie and Chris Diaz each had a hit for the SteepleCats, who used five pitchers in the loss.
 
North Adams (0-2) comes home Tuesday to host the Mystic Schooners at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Wolfe Field.
