MCLA To Hold Veteran’s Day Concert

The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) Department of Fine and Performing Arts will present “A Veteran’s Day Salute,” on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 3 p.m. in the Church Street Center. A joint concert of the MCLA Chorus and the MCLA Community Concert Band, the concert will honor the area’s local veterans on the holiday weekend. The event is free and open to the public. The program will feature a wide selection of American and patriotic standards, including “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “America the Beautiful” and “God Bless America.” The MCLA band and chorus are under the direction of Jack Brown. SteepleCats Shut Out on Road

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Four Vermont pitchers combined to strike out 11 and allow four hits Tuesday as the Mountaineers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Evan Meier, Bobby Stang, Tonny Woodie and Chris Diaz each had a hit for the SteepleCats, who used five pitchers in the loss.
 
North Adams (0-2) comes home Tuesday to host the Mystic Schooners at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Wolfe Field.
