REACH, North Adams Library offer three talks on women's health in November

The REACH Community Health Foundation and the North Adams Public Library will offer a three-week series of presentations on women’s health in November. The presentations will be held on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. at the North Adams Public Library, and are free to the public. On Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m., Polly Macpherson, manager of the REACH for Breast Health program, will present information on breast health. Other topics will include cardiovascular health on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m., and cervical health on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 6 p.m. Each presentation will last about 90 minutes, including time for questions and discussion. Light refreshments will be served. Door prizes will be awarded at each event, and women who attend all three will be eligible to win a final raffle prize. The REACH Community Health Foundation is a nonprofit subsidiary of Northern Berkshire Healthcare and is dedicated to improving the health of the Northern Berkshire community. SteepleCats Shut Out on Road

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Four Vermont pitchers combined to strike out 11 and allow four hits Tuesday as the Mountaineers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Evan Meier, Bobby Stang, Tonny Woodie and Chris Diaz each had a hit for the SteepleCats, who used five pitchers in the loss.
 
North Adams (0-2) comes home Tuesday to host the Mystic Schooners at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Wolfe Field.
