Inkberry and Papyri Books, present WordPlay

Saturday, December 8, at 7:00 p.m. WordPlay, a monthly reading series co-sponsored by Inkberry and Papyri Books, will be held at Papyri Books, 45 Eagle Street. December¹s WordPlay will features Scriv workshop members who will read their own original work. The group of MCLA students meets twice each month at Inkberry to share and critique their work. Scriv is facilitated by Sondra Murphy, a senior at The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. She is an English/Communications major concentrating in creative writing and journalism an has been Copy Editor Chief for The Beacon, As the College Workshop Facilitator, she hopes to motivate new, as well as experienced, writers to share their work and to continue to create. Gail Burns of Williamstown will host the event for Inkberry. After the reading, there will be a brief intermission, followed by the popular WordPlay open mic. Refreshments will be available, and admission is free and open to the public. SteepleCats Shut Out on Road

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Four Vermont pitchers combined to strike out 11 and allow four hits Tuesday as the Mountaineers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Evan Meier, Bobby Stang, Tonny Woodie and Chris Diaz each had a hit for the SteepleCats, who used five pitchers in the loss.
 
North Adams (0-2) comes home Tuesday to host the Mystic Schooners at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Wolfe Field.
