North County Christmas to Be Celebrated

NORTH ADAMS - First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, will host its 26th annual North County Christmas celebration on Sunday, Dec. 30, at 4. The concert will feature a 40-plus voice ecumenical choir made up of members from various churches throughout Northern Berkshire County. The concert will also feature lessons and carols for the Christmas season as well as an original carol arrangement by local musician Michael Hutchinson. This is the rescheduled concert that was canceled because of a snowstorm. A freewill offering will be taken to help benefit The Berkshire Food Project and St. Anthony's Kitchen, two local food pantries that serve over 30,000 free meals every year. SteepleCats Shut Out on Road

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Four Vermont pitchers combined to strike out 11 and allow four hits Tuesday as the Mountaineers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Evan Meier, Bobby Stang, Tonny Woodie and Chris Diaz each had a hit for the SteepleCats, who used five pitchers in the loss.
 
North Adams (0-2) comes home Tuesday to host the Mystic Schooners at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Wolfe Field.
