Mt. Greylock High School in a quiz shows
Mt. Greylock High School of Williamstown, MA, will meet Enfield High School of Enfield, CT, in week 13 of WGBY's As Schools Match Wits Saturday, February 2 at 7 p.m.Area writer, teacher, critic, and radio personality Chris Rohmann hosts.
One of the country's longest running academic quiz shows, As Schools Match Wits enters its 47th season with a roster of 48 high schools from across western New England. The top eight highest scoring teams at the end of the season will go to the finals and compete for the championship. The show's format features area high schools competing in teams of four students each, plus an alternate. In classic quiz show style, the teams buzz in to answer questions based on school curriculum. The school getting the most points for correct answers wins.
Sponsored by Berkshire Bank and Big Y Supermarkets, and now produced at the studios of Westfield State College and broadcast on WGBY, As Schools Match Wits delivers all of the fun of the classic high school quiz-show and introduces a new generation of high-school students to one of the few public competitions that stresses knowledge over physical ability.
