MCLA To Hold Alumni Reunion June 6 & 7

NORTH ADAMS – Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts will hold a alumni reunion on Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7. Featured classes will be those ending in 3s and 8s, but all alumni are invited.

On Friday, June 6, the College will welcome the Class of 1958 to a special dinner in the newly renovated Smith House on campus. Also invited to this dinner are members of all classes that graduated before 1958. In addition, the Class of 1978 will host a reception in Murdock Hall at 6 p.m. All local alumni are invited to attend. Hors d’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available.

A special feature of this year’s reunion is an event to be held at Fish Pond in North Adams, from noon until 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 7. Games are planned and there will be a chance for some class competitions. Also on Saturday, the Peg Lanoue `38 Memorial Tea will be held in Smith House at 3 p.m. At 5 p.m., there will be a chicken barbecue, complete with live music, on the MCLA campus. Tom Corrigan and his trio will lead the festivities.

SteepleCats Shut Out on Road

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Four Vermont pitchers combined to strike out 11 and allow four hits Tuesday as the Mountaineers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Evan Meier, Bobby Stang, Tonny Woodie and Chris Diaz each had a hit for the SteepleCats, who used five pitchers in the loss.
 
North Adams (0-2) comes home Tuesday to host the Mystic Schooners at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Wolfe Field.
