ArtTalks! Lecture at IS183 Art School
STOCKBRIDGE — Sculpture and contemporary artist, Gordon Chandler will be offering a free lecture, “Bringing it Home” at IS183 Art School in Stockbridge on July 9th at 7 p.m.Chandler will reflect on growing up in the Berkshires and moving to the rural south, and the changes that occurred in his work due to his change in locale. He will discuss his route to discovering his art form and finding appropriate markets for his work which is created from “found objects” collected from scrap yards and roadsides throughout the country. ArtTalks! lectures are held at IS183 Art School the second Wednesday of every month from May to September at 7 p.m. This series is sponsored by Taylor Rental, Nejaimes Wine Cellar and Rubiner’s Cheesemongers and Grocers. The ArtTalks! lecture series was launched in 2006 to create a forum where students, residents and artists in the region to be introduced to the work and ideas that are shaping contemporary art.
