SteepleCats Extend Winning Streak Over Lowell

North Adams once again took the early lead at Joe Wolfe Field as two runs came across the plate in the top of the first on an RBI single from Paul Hoilman, which scored Greg Van Horn, and a throwing error from rightfielder Kevin Rivers, scoring Kevin Carby for a 2-0 SteepleCats lead.
The SteepleCats would hold the lead until the fourth inning, when Lowell would score three times to take a 3-2 edge. North Adams wasted no time in tying the game as in the bottom of the inning with Cody Stanley on second, Mike Donato singled through the left side to plate Stanley for a 3-3 tie. John Malloy went 2-for-5 in the game, raising his hitting streak to 12 games.
The 'Cats would take the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth inning. With one out, Stanley reached on an error that ate up third baseman Nick Pecora. Two batters later with two outs, Donato blooped a single into right moving Stanley to third. Sean Parker came up and came through for North Adams to make it 4-3 SteepleCats. With runners on first and second, Ryan Semeniuk doubled off the wall in leftfield, bringing home both Donato and Parker for a 6-3 'Cats advantage. North Adams would add a run in the bottom of the eighth on another Semeniuk double, plating Ryan Delgado for the final tally.
Craig Crumbly (2-1) pitched a season high 6.2 innings, picking up the win for the SteepleCats. The righthander allowed eight hits and three runs, striking out four. Conor Fahey (1-4) took the loss for Lowell.
Two more home games highlight parents' weekend in North Adams. Saturday is Family Fun Day presented by Carr Hardware at Joe Wolfe Field with several attractions for kids of all ages at the ballpark.
