NORTH ADAMS – For his efforts over the course of the SteepleCats six game winning streak, Cody Stanley has been named the NECBL Co-Player of the Week for the week ending July 13.

Stanley hit .520 (13-for-25) this past week, in which the SteepleCats went 6-0. Keying the North Adams offensive attack, the freshman catcher from UNC-Wilmington scored 13 runs, drove in 12 more while hitting two doubles a triple and two homers. He also stole three bases.

One of the keys for North Adams over the course of the winning streak has been jumping on teams early, outscoring the opposition 11-0 in the first inning. Stanley has been a big part of that push driving in three of those runs. He also clubbed a towering homerun to rightfield that proved to be the eventual game-winning run against Holyoke on Sunday.

The SteepleCats head out on the road for two key games against Keene on Tuesday and division rival Newport on Wednesday. Tuesday’s game starts at 7 p.m. with Wednesday having a 6:35 p.m. first pitch. You can catch all the action on the team’s website at www.steeplecats.com and by following the Teamline link.
