SteepleCats season comes to an end

With the win the Dukes will move on to play the winner of Newport and Manchester.
Pittsfield broke a scoreless tie in the fourth when with one out and Chris Edmondson on second, Matt Adams clocked his first homerun of the postseason for a 2-0 Dukes lead. In the fifth, Pittsfield struck again as with runners on first and second, Edmondson stepped up and drilled a triple to right-centerfield for a 4-0 Dukes advantage. Two batters later, Matt Adams doubled down the rightfield line, scoring Edmondson for a 5-0 lead.
The game would remain 5-0 until the eighth when Jason Langfels singled in Dominic Di Ricco for a 6-0 Pittsfield edge. A run in the ninth crossed the plate for the Dukes to make it 7-0.
After being handcuffed by Kyle Vazquez for seven innings and Jake Sabol in the eighth, the SteepleCats made sure they didn’t go home empty handed in the contest as with Ryan Delgado on first, Ryan Semeniuk took a Sabol pitch over the left field fence for a two-run homer and a 7-2 game.
Despite the ninth inning homer, the game belonged to Vazquez (1-0) who pitched seven innings allowing four hits and no runs, striking out seven. Craig Crumbly (0-1) pitched well, but took the loss for the SteepleCats.
The North Adams SteepleCats would like to thank all of the fans who came out to support the team this season at Joe Wolfe Field and all of the sponsors who allowed the SteepleCats to continue to take the field in North Adams.
