Jewish Heritage Project Airing On CTSB
Great Barrington - Berkshire South Regional Community Center in Great Barrington, in collaboration with CTSB TV, is presenting the “Jewish Heritage Project”, a unique opportunity for the elders and youth in our communities. It is an oral history storytelling in which the elders have the opportunity to share events, experiences, insights, perspectives, and their personal history. Our own storytellers relay to the next generations their experiences and memories, giving us a glance into a time period that once was.CTSB, our local TV station has offered a most extraordinary opportunity for the community youth to interview and film our elders, continuing the age-old tradition of storytelling.
The “Jewish Heritage Project”, a five-part series, is scheduled to start Sunday, August 24th, 2008 at 2 pm on CTSB’s Public Channel 16, on Time Warner Cable in the towns of Great Barrington, Lee, Lenox, Sheffield and Stockbridge.
Each show will air for one week. Show 1 of 5 will air beginning Sunday, August 24 at 2 pm. Show 2 of 5 will air Sunday, August 31 at 2 pm, etc. The entire five-week series will repeat starting October 12 and again on November 16th, 2008.
The following days and times will prevail for all episodes and for the entire rotation: Sundays at 2 pm; Mondays at 10:30 pm, 2 pm and 8:00 pm; Tuesdays at 12:30 am, 7:00 am and 12:30 pm; and Thursdays at 4:30 pm.
The series will not be shown September 28-October 11 during the Jewish High Holidays. The length of each episode is approximately 30 minutes.
The first four of the five shows are hosted by Arielle Sebestyen who will be interviewing Karl Lipsky, Mickey Beller, Stanley Marcus and Rebecca Marcus. The 5th show is hosted by Ilya Yantovsky who will be interviewing Isaac Kutik, his great-grandfather. Ilya also serves as the voiceover for Isaac who speaks Russian.
