The North Adams Public Library monthly book discussion groups have chosen their titles for the November meetings. The Happy Bookers have decided to let participants pick any Archer Mayer book. They will meet on Tuesday, November 18 at 6 pm. The library has many of Mr. Mayer titles to choose.

The Friday, November 21 meeting of the Tea & Talk book group will be discussing “ The Bookseller of Kabul” by Asne Seirerstad. The discussion will begin at 11 am and both groups meet on the 3rd floor of the library.

Future titles chosen by the group include The Lace Reader by Brunonia Barry, Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson, Audition by Barbara Walters and The Gift of the Enemy by Eric Lamett. All titles are subject to availability in the CWMARS system.

Copies of The Bookseller of Kabul are available at the library in hardcover, large print and book on cd.

The library is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 9 to 8, Wednesday and Friday 9 to 5 and Saturday 9 to 1. The library will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11 to observe Veteran’s Day.

SteepleCats Shut Out on Road

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Four Vermont pitchers combined to strike out 11 and allow four hits Tuesday as the Mountaineers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Evan Meier, Bobby Stang, Tonny Woodie and Chris Diaz each had a hit for the SteepleCats, who used five pitchers in the loss.
 
North Adams (0-2) comes home Tuesday to host the Mystic Schooners at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Wolfe Field.
