Inkberry and Papyri Books present Wordplay

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Saturday, February 14, at 7:00 p.m. Wordplay, a monthly reading series co-sponsored by Inkberry and Papyri Books, 45 Eagle Street. Featured author Juliane Hiam Scribner will read from her recently finished novel, Cum Laude Girls.

Juliane Hiam Scribner has a wide range of writing experience from having been a screenwriter in Hollywood to having had two plays produced at Shakespeare and Company, one at Berkshire Theater Festival, having had a weekly column in the Berkshire Eagle (which was also syndicated nationally) to having just finished her first novel. She currently resides in Pittsfield, MA and has four children.

Gail Burns of Williamstown will host the event for Inkberry. After the reading there will be a brief intermission, followed by the popular Wordplay open mic. Refreshments will be available. The event is free and open to the public.

SteepleCats Shut Out on Road

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Four Vermont pitchers combined to strike out 11 and allow four hits Tuesday as the Mountaineers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Evan Meier, Bobby Stang, Tonny Woodie and Chris Diaz each had a hit for the SteepleCats, who used five pitchers in the loss.
 
North Adams (0-2) comes home Tuesday to host the Mystic Schooners at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Wolfe Field.
