New Craft Workshops Offered at BCC
Anyone interested in creating fun and unique crafts is invited to register for one or more of the following new workshops offered at the South County Center of Berkshire Community College in Great Barrington this spring.“Sulky Mystery Puzzle Tote: How Does She Do That”? (WKS 391) gives participants hints and tips to make a special puzzle tote filled with pockets. The tote, designed by Ellen Osten, National Education Coordinator for Sulky of America, uses a fun sewing technique that can be used on any garment, home décor item, and more. This two-session class, taught by Nanci Race, meets Monday evening, March 23 and March 30, from 6 to 8. The cost is $40, with an additional $15 kit fee payable to the instructor.
“Pizzazz Pedestal Pot” (WKS 392) teaches students to make a decorative pedestal-based bowl. This piece of art, created on a sewing machine, may also be adjusted to become a purse. Classes, taught by Nanci Race, meet Monday evening, April 6 through April 20, from 6 to 8. Cost is $60, with an additional $15 kit fee payable to the instructor.
“Snorkeling – Adults” (WKS 398) designed for beginner or experienced sewers, helps participants create, stitch and embellish a small pillow or wall hanging with a playful undersea theme. Classes, taught by Mary Kate Jordan, meet Wednesday evening, April 15 through April 29, from 6:30 to 8:30. Cost is $60.
“Sulky Sewing Companion Caddy” (WKS 393) shows students how to make a caddy designed to hold sewing essentials. The cover design is embellished with a Sulky “Puffy Foam Picket Fence”
along with bar-tack flowers and decorative stitching. Classes, taught by Nanci Race, meet Monday evening, April 27 through May 18, from 6 to 8. Cost is $80, with a $15 kit fee payable to the instructor.
