NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — There's still time to catch the 2009 SteepleCats. With the postponement of Wednesday's game because of rain, Hometown Heroes Night will now be held on Thursday, July 30, when the SteepleCats take on the Danbury Westerners at Joe Wolfe Field.

The SteepleCats' season-end Fan Fest, which was previously scheduled for July 30 as well, will still take place. Festivities will include appearances by emergency vehicles from Northern Berkshire County, extra giveaways throughout the game, player autographs and other special events and activities as the SteepleCats organization expresses its appreciation for the community's support.

Wednesday night's game against the Holyoke Blue Sox has been rescheduled for Friday morning at 10:15. Admission will be free.

The SteepleCats have secured the second seed in the NECBL Western Division. Although their opponent is yet to be determined, the 'Cats will host the opening playoff game against the third seed on Sunday night at 7. If necessary, the third and final game of the first-round series will be played on Monday night in North Adams. All three rounds of the NECBL playoffs are the best-of-three with the first and third games being played at the higher seed's home field.
