NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Amanda Lane (Swansea) earned her 1,000th career dig for the Trailblazers, but the Fighting Tigers rallied to defeat the Trailblazers in five games.

Despite the match starting over an hour late due to a late arrival by the opponent; MCLA came out energized in the first game. Lane needed eleven digs for a 1,000 coming into the match and picked up number 1,000 with the score 18-16 in the first game. Lane and the Trailblazers excitement showed as MCLA put away the Tigers 25-19.

Cobleskill however got better as the match went on and won the next two games by scores of 25-19 and 25-15. The Trailblazers had no answer for Natasha Mamrosh (Dolgeville, NY)though; the sophomore had nineteen kills for Cobleskill State, including thirteen in the last three games. The Tigers also got thirty-five assists from Samantha Burkhart (Cobleskill, NY).

MCLA actually trailed in the fourth game 21-18 before staging an emotional comeback; with the Amsler Center rocking the Trailblazers forced a fifth and deciding game with a 25-22 victory.


The Trailblazers ran out of steam in the last game and Mamrosh finished the comeback off with the Fighting Tigers winning 15-8.

Lane finished with thirty-nine digs and Marta Brown (Glens Falls, NY) had twenty-four assists.

MCLA will host Framingham State in what is a very important conference match on Saturday at Noon.

New North Adams Restaurant Approved for Liquor License

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — A new restaurant on Main Street, a provisions shop and a convenience store all got the nod from the License Commission on Tuesday.
 
Siblings Colleen and Sean Taylor are expanding their cuisine empire yet again with the establishment of Main & Mill in the old TD Bank. They were before the commission to apply for an all-alcohol license. 
 
The building is owned by Ginko on Main Street LLC, which has granted 20 years exclusive possession of the property to Latent Builds as the developer. Jack and Suzy Wadsworth, behind Ginko, are development partners with Salvatore Perry and Karla Rothstein of Latent.
 
The bank closed in early 2021 and purchased by Ginko late that year. Plans for the property unveiled three years ago envisioned a restaurant, retail, a park and rooftop bar. 
 
The building's hosted some pop-up eateries and is currently under construction for the new restaurant. 
 
Colleen Taylor said the restaurant will be open seven days a week serving lunch and dinner, and be open early for coffee. 
 
"It's not going to be a very big restaurant. It's about the same size as Trail House, except for Trail House has a bigger patio, so about the same seating," she said.
