Surgeon Joins North Adams Regional Hospital Staff

Dr. Louis Reines
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Dr. Louis Reines has joined Northern Berkshire General Surgery and the medical staff of North Adams Regional Hospital.

Reines is fellowship trained in colorectal surgery and also performs general surgery. He joins Dr. Tim Baisch at Northern Berkshire General Surgery.

His areas of expertise include laparoscopic colectomy, complex ano-rectal surgery and colonoscopy. He is accepting new patients and will see screening colonoscopy consults. Reines can be reached at Northern Berkshire General Surgery at 413-664-5999.

Reines earned his medical degree and a master's degree in health management from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Connecticut and his fellowship in colorectal surgery at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.


He enjoys cooking, running, and live music and speaks conversational Spanish. He is married to Dr. Veronica Del Riccio, an obstetrician and gynecologist, who joins Northern Berkshire Ob/Gyn at North Adams Regional Hospital.

SteepleCats Shut Out on Road

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Four Vermont pitchers combined to strike out 11 and allow four hits Tuesday as the Mountaineers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Evan Meier, Bobby Stang, Tonny Woodie and Chris Diaz each had a hit for the SteepleCats, who used five pitchers in the loss.
 
North Adams (0-2) comes home Tuesday to host the Mystic Schooners at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Wolfe Field.
