VNA of Northern Berkshire Offers Free Health Screenings

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of Northern Berkshire will offer public health clinics in the region in February. The clinics include blood pressure and blood sugar screening, medication reviews, and health teaching.

Public health clinics are offered every Tuesday and Thursday at the VNA & Hospice, 535 Curran Highway in North Adams, from 3-4 p.m.

In Adams, clinics will be held at:
  • Barrett House, Wednesday, Feb. 1, from 10 - 11 a.m.;
  • Columbia Valley, Thursday, Feb. 9, 10 - 11 a.m.;
  • Millhouse Apartments, Wednesday, Feb. 15, 10 - 11 a.m.;
  • Adams Council on Aging, Wednesday, Feb. 22, 10 - 11 a.m.
In North Adams:
  • St. Joseph’s Court, Wednesday, Feb. 8, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.;
  • Holy Family, Wednesday, Feb. 8, 11 – noon;
  • Village East, Tuesday, Feb. 14, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.;
  • Spitzer Center, Tuesday, Feb. 21, 9 - 11 a.m.

SteepleCats Shut Out on Road

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Four Vermont pitchers combined to strike out 11 and allow four hits Tuesday as the Mountaineers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Evan Meier, Bobby Stang, Tonny Woodie and Chris Diaz each had a hit for the SteepleCats, who used five pitchers in the loss.
 
North Adams (0-2) comes home Tuesday to host the Mystic Schooners at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Wolfe Field.
