Enjoy a dozen different art shows featuring work by more than two dozen accomplished regional and student artists in Pittsfield's bustling Upstreet Cultural District during the First Friday Artswalk, and all month long!
In most venues, artists will be present from 5-8 p.m. A free guided tour begins at 5 p.m. at the Intermodal Center @ BRTA, 1 Columbus Ave.
The Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, at 28 Renne Ave., will present the Community Access to the Arts (CATA) annual art show, I Am a Part of Art, featuring a paintings and drawings by artists with disabilities.

The 6th annual Special Olympics fundraiser Midnight Run with the Cops Copstacle Fun Run & Walk will include a 5-level copstacle course, a shorter walking course, and an after-party at Flavours of Malaysia. Have fun, get wet and tired, and maybe even get a pain in your cheeks from laughing so much. Registration starts at 10 p.m. Race and party begin at midnight.

Join recycled textile artist Crispina ffrench at Shire City Sanctuary for a fun bucket bag making workshop. Bucket bags are hand and machine sewn and riveted from a collection of button-up shirts, wool blankets and t-shirts with denim jean details and shoulder straps from colorful webbing, leather, or recycled denim. The use of all tools and materials, and refreshments are included in tuition for the limited size class. 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Join your neighbors and help The Funky Phoenix paint a piano that will be displayed on The Common beginning July 18 as a fundraiser for The Berkshire Music School. The title is "Positive Pittsfield" and volunteers are invited to bring a special quote, image or small piece of Pittsfield to attach to this multimedia work of art. 5-8 p.m.

The Jewish Federation Connecting with Community series presents "Soil and Shul: The Story of a Jewish Farm Colony in the Berkshires," at Knesset Israel. The first Jewish families came to Sandisfield, MA in 1902 as a Jewish Agricultural and Industrial Aid Society plan to create an agricultural colony as a way to ease New York City's overcrowded Jewish neighborhoods. Join presenter Lorraine German, who has combed through historical records and first-hand accounts, to learn more about this farming community. 10:45 a.m.

Norwegian WWII resistance fighter Jan Baalsruds is one of 12 saboteurs sent on a failed anti-Nazi sabotage mission from England to Nazi-occupied Northern Norway. After their boat is sunk by the Germans, Jan goes on the run towards neutral Sweden. However, the brutal weather conditions turn out to possibly be an even greater foe than the Nazi patrols.
There were 12 saboteurs. The Nazis killed 11. This is the story of the one who got away.

The Lichtenstein Center for the Arts is proud to present the Community Access to the Arts (CATA) annual art show, I Am a Part of Art,featuring a paintings and drawings by artists with disabilities. All pieces are available for sale, with proceeds providing commissions for individual artists. The exhibit will be on view during the July 7 First Friday Artswalk from 5-8 p.m. and an opening reception will be held on Thursday, July 12 from 5-7 p.m.
