WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Williams College women’s basketball team began its season on Friday with a home opener, defeating the Skidmore Thoroughbreds (0-3), 65-35.
Leading the Ephs in points were co-captain Lauren Vostal (11 points, 11 rebounds), Katie Brule (12 points, eight rebounds), and Emily Chang (11 points). Sophomore Gabby Martin, Junior Emily Peckam, and Vostal amassed three rebounds each.
The Ephs will continue play in the Morin Memorial Classic Saturday against Oneonta State at 3 p.m.
Men's Hockey
BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Marcus Mollica had a hat trick, including a short-handed goal, to lead Williams to a 4-1 win over Bowdoin in both teams' season opener.
Roberto Cellini scored, and Michael Pinios stopped 26 shots to earn the win.
Williams goes to Colby on Saturday.
