Berkshire Blaze Travel Softball Tryouts Friday and Saturday

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Berkshire Blaze travel softball program will hold tryouts this week for the 14-and-under and 16-and-underage groups.
 
Two days of tryouts will be hosted by The Infield at 10 Lyman St.
 
On Friday Jan. 11, pitchers and cathchers will try out from 7 to 7:30 p.m., and fielding and hitting tryouts will be from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
 
On Saturday, pitchers and catchers will try out from 1 to 1:30 p.m., and fielding and hitting will be from 1:30 to 3:30.
 
Sign up on the team's Facebook page check in when you arrive. 
 
Tryouts are being held in January to establish the teams in order to build schedules and purchase uniforms and equipment for the season ahead. Training and games will begin throughout the spring at dates to be determined according to age group and availability of the players. 
 
We start promptly so players should prepare ahead of time to be warmed up and stretched out. Sneakers only. No cleats.
 
Berkshire Blaze was established in 1997 and is a USA Certified softball program that competes in USA Softball tournaments in eastern New York and throughout New England, as well as the local Berkshire County summer league.

Pair of Unbeatens Remain in Berkshire Adult Baseball League

Cornerstone and the Adams Aces won their games this weekend to stay unbeaten in the Berkshire Adult Baseball League.
 
Cornerstone (4-0) leads the 20-year-old league after taking a pair of games.
 
Cornerstone took a pair of games from the Great Barrington Millers over the weekend.
 
First, Jeff Field hit a grand slam in the seventh inning to help break open a close game that ended up a 10-3 Cornerstone win. Isaiah Provencher earned the win on the mound, striking out eight.
