Hunt, Burris Lead Team to Giorgi League Win

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Todd Hunt and Tom Burris each scored 17 points to lead Rivers Lawn Care/Timeless Training to a 59-53 win over Fortitude Strength and Conditioning on Wednesday in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League.
 
Lucas Shatford had a double-double for Fortitude with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
 
Robert Jutras scored a game-high 19 points, and Mike Muller scored 11 in the loss.
 
In Wednesday's other game, Maselli/Bedard Bros. beat iBerkshires.com, 51-43 behind 16 points from Anton Wright.
 
 
Brandon Hurst scored 18 for iBerkshires.
 
The high school division is back in action on Thursday at 5:30 with Mount Greylock facing Monument Mountain, followed by McCann Tech against Drury.

MCLA Women's Cross Country Competes at Western New England

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The MCLA women's cross country team ran Saturday morning in the Western New England Invitational.  The Trailblazers finished 15th in the 17 team field.
 
The meet was won by Mount Holyoke.   Hannah Rieders of MHC took the top individual honors.
 
For MCLA, they were led by Julie Hammill's 52nd place finish. She covered the course in 25:29. Hannah Poplawski was 70th for MCLA with a time of 26:31.
 
Jenna Berg clocked in at 100th with a time of 31:42. Domenica Gomez (33:30) and Hunter Schrade (53:40) also ran for the Trailblazers.
