Adams-Cheshire Chooses Three Superintendent Finalists

CHESHIRE, Mass. — The Adams-Cheshire Regional School Committee will interview three former district employees for superintendent.
The superintendent search committee greenlighted Berkshire County residents Beth Choquette, Aaron Dean, and Martin McEvoy for finalist interviews.
"I can tell you that all three received high marks in many areas from their respective references, including leadership," search committee Chairwoman Regina Hill said on Thursday.
After a year on the job, Superintendent John Vosburgh announced his resignation — boomeranging the district right back into another superintendent search. He has reportedly taken an administrative post at Nessacus Middle School in the Central Berkshire Regional School District.
The School Committee agreed they wanted to start the search immediately and with Vosburgh parting ways at the end of July, the committee appointed retired superintendent Al Skrocki as the interim to steer the district through the transition.
Hill said the committee received 13 resumes.
Choquette has been the principal of Bridge Street School in the Northampton Public School District since 2012. She also was principal of Stamford (Vt.) Elementary School for six years.
Before that she was a music teacher at Hoosac Valley Elementary for six years.
Aaron Dean, who has been the principal of Crosby Elementary School in Pittsfield since 2016, also has roots in the ACRSD and from 1998 to 2012 was a music teacher in the district.
Dean was also the principal of Stearns School in Pittsfield from 2013 to 2016.
McEvoy has been principal of Herberg Middle School in Pittsfield since 2018 but before that was the Lanesborough Elementary School principal from 2015 to 2018.
McEvoy, too, once was part of the Adams-Cheshire district and from 2013 to 2015 was the Hoosac Valley Middle and High School vice principal for curriculum and instruction.
Before that, he worked as a teacher in the Lee Public Schools, Taconic High, and the Putnam Vocational-Technical High School in Springfield.
The final interviews will all take place Aug. 15 in the Hoosac Valley High library.
Dean will be interviewed at 6 p.m., Choquette at 7:15, and McEvoy at 8:15.
