Charter Helps Team to 3-0 Start in Dalton CRA League

DALTON, Mass. -- Evan Charter scored 15 points recently to lead the Pittsfield Co-Op team to victory in the Dalton CRA Youth Basketball League.
 
Charter's team opened the season 3-0 to sit in first place atop the Grade 3-5 boys division.
 
He had his 15-point game in a 44-18 win over Berkshire Bank that saw Berkshire Bank's Jack Furlong score five points.
 
In Pittsfield Co-Op's other two wins, Ryder Shove and Alex Harrington led the way.
 
In a 30-27 squeaker against Hot Harry's, Shove scored 10, and Hot Harry's Brayden Ryan had a game-high 15.
 
In Pittsfield Co-Op's 37-26 win over Berkshire Bank, Harrington scored 10, and Berkshire Bank's Joe Fontaine had 11.
 
Berkshire Bank is 1-2 after a 30-26 win over Hot Harry's. Anna Doyle scored 22 points in the win; Gracey Farley had 14 points for Hot Harry's.
 
Grade 6-8 Boys League
Crosier Electric 57, West Automotive 38
Evan Alfonso score 25 for Crosier Electric. Cole Rapkowicz had a game-high 27 for West Automotive.
 
Superior Graphics 37, Barry and Kinzer 27
Kadon Choquette scored 11 for Superior Graphics. Cooper Calvert led Barry and Kinzer with seven.
 
Hill Engineers 69, Crosier Electric 65
Landon Corcoran scored 24 for Hill Engineers. Evan Alfonso had 30 for Crosier Electric.
 
Barry and Kinzer 50, West Automotive 46
Noah Arnold socred 16 in the win. Cole Rapkowicz had 34 for West Automotive.
 
Crosier Electric 56, Barry and Kinzer 28
Evan Alfonso scored 19 for Crosier Electric. Aiden Kelly had 11 for Barry and Kinzer.
 
Superior Graphics 62, West Automotive 46
Superior Graphics was led by Landon Choquette's 32. Cole Rapkowicz had 42 for West Automotive.
 
Grade 3-5 Girls League
Boog 13, Dalton Rotary 11
Delaney Drake scored six for Boog. Julia McComish led Dalton Rotary with four points.
 
Dalton Lions Club 30, Dalton Benefit Association 24
Sydney Payson scored 18 for Dalton Lions Club. Mallory Radwich had a game-high 20 for Dalton Benefit Association.
 
Dalton Rotary 16, Dalton Lions Club 10
Julia McComish led Dalton Rotary with six points. Sydney Payson scored six for Dalton Lions Club.
 
Dalton Rotary 22, Dalton Benefit Association 12
Julia McComish of Dalton Rotary and Mallory Radwich of Dalton Benefit Association tied for game-high honors with 10 points apiece.
 
Grade 6-8 Girls League
Boog 21, Dalton Fire Department 18
Anna Doyle scored 13 points in the win. Dalton Fire Department got eight points from Gracelyn Wright.
 
Dalton Fire Department 36, Aldam Press 14
Hanna Lord scored 14 points for Dalton Fire Department. Miranda White led Aldam Press with eight.
 
Boog 47, Superior Graphics 41
Boog got 22 points from Anna Doyle. Gracey Farley scored for for Superior Graphics.
 
Superior Graphics 40, Aldam Press 30
Meliana Haczela led the way for Superior Graphics with 14 points. Marleigh White scored a game-high 16 for Aldam Press.

Dalton CRA May Day Races Return May 5

DALTON, Mass.  — The 47th annual Community Recreation Association May Day Races will be held Sunday, May 5, at Nessacus Middle School, with major sponsorship by Greylock Federal Credit Union.
 
Races include 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer, the Obstacles & Popsicles kids’ races for ages 8 and under, and a 1-mile Splatter Sprint for ages 8 and up, all with chip timing by Berkshire Running Center, along with an untimed fun walk.
 
The 5K road/trail race, 10K road race and fun walk begin at 9 a.m. The Obstacles & Popsicles races begin at 10 a.m., with the Splatter Sprint immediately following.
 
The first 100 runners to register (combined 5K/10K) will receive a long-sleeve wicking T-shirt. Every participant in the Obstacles & Popsicles kids’ races will receive a ribbon and freeze pop at the finish line. All proceeds benefit nonprofit CRA and Dalton Youth Center programs.
