SteepleCats Split Pair at Home

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The North Adams SteepleCats Wednesday split a double-header with the Upper Valley Nighthawks at Joe Wolfe Field.
 
In the opener, Wilfrido Valenzuela scattered five hits and allowed just one earned run in five innings to earn the win on the mound.
 
Jeremy Lea doubled, and John Marti drove in a pair of runs a 3-1 win.
 
Michael Kluska doubled in a five-hit SteepleCats attack in the nightcap.
 
Jordan Yoder and Noah Niznik split time on the mound for North Adams in the 3-0 loss.
 
North Adams (3-4-2) is home against Vermont on Friday.

Comfortable Temperatures, Thunderstorms in Store For The Rest of the Week

Temperatures are expected to stay in the 70s this week. This is lower than the seasonal average.
 
Meteorologist Steve Caporizzo tweeted a graphic Tuesday indicating that temperatures have typically been in the 80s this time of year. 
 
Today in North Adams, temperatures should stay in the 70s with mostly cloudy skies. According to Accuweather, do not expect the temperature to go above 76 Wednesday
 
Similar conditions can be found in Central and South County. Accuweather predicts a little more sun further south.
