Daytime Bridge Repair Operations to Begin on Sacco Bridge

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will begin conducting bridge repair operations on the Sacco Bridge located on Route 2 in North Adams.
 
The bridge repair operations are scheduled to begin on Monday, July 19, 2021, and are anticipated to be substantially completed in Fall 2021.  
 
The work is scheduled to be conducted weekdays, Monday through Friday, during daytime hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will include removing the existing deck surface, repairing deck concrete and bridge joints, and installing a new deck surface.
 
Message boards have been installed to warn the travelling public of the impending construction operations.  Two lanes of traffic will be maintained during construction.  Occasional lane closures may be needed for certain scheduled bridge repair operations.
 
The estimated cost of the project is approximately $699,000.  The project is anticipated to be officially completed in February 2022.  
 
The contractor for the project is Sealcoating, Inc.

MCLA (0-6, 0-1 North Atlantic Conference) goes to Maine Maritime on Saturday.
