Flash Flood Watch In Effect This Afternoon As Ida Hits Berkshire County

Rain can be expected in Berkshire County on Wednesday and lots of it.
 
The National Weather Service had set a flash flood watch from 2 p.m. until Thursday, Sept 2, at 2 p.m.
 
The heavy rainfall is associated with Hurricane Ida and 3 to 6 inches of rain is expected to fall in the region.
 
The National Weather Service warns that flash flooding is most likely to take place in urban, low lying and poor drainage areas. They urge those in affected areas to monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
 
Meteorologist Steve Caporizzo of News10 in Albany, N.Y., said the flood threat is mainly south and east of Albany:
 
"Mainly south and east of Albany from the Remnants of 'Ida' South of Albany 2-4" Likely....with areas north of NYC 4-5"+ Much less to the north of Albany-Sharp Drop-off."
 
Other than that, things should stay cloudy in Berkshire County. Accuweather predicts that temperatures should stay in the 60s.
 
As mentioned above, Berkshire County will still be feeling the effects of Ida on Thursday, however, Accuweather predicts the clouds will eventually give way to sun. Temperatures will likely stay in the 60s. 
 
Temperatures will continue to trend cooler for the rest of the week. Although sunny skies can be expected, Accuweather predicts temperatures in the 60s Friday and in the low 70s Saturday
 
Possible thunderstorms are in store Sunday, but Labor Day looks decent in Berkshire County with temperatures in the low 70s and sunny skies predicted.

BAAMS' Monthly Studio 9 Series Features Mino Cinelu

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — On April 20, Berkshires' Academy of Advanced Musical Studies (BAAMS) will host its fourth in a series of live music concerts at Studio 9.
 
Saturday's performance will feature drummer, guitarist, keyboardist and singer Mino Cinelu.
 
Cinelu has worked with Miles Davis, Sting, Weather Report, Herbie Hancock, Tracy Chapman, Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder, Lou Reed, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Vicente Amigo, Dizzy Gillespie, Pat Metheny, Branford Marsalis, Pino Daniele, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Salif Keita.
 
Cinelu will be joined by Richard Boulger on trumpet and flugelhorn, Dario Boente on piano and keyboards, and Tony Lewis on drums and percussion.
 
Doors open: 6:30pm. Tickets can be purchased here.
 
All proceeds will help support music education at BAAMS, which provides after-school and Saturday music study, as well as a summer jazz-band day camp for students ages 10-18, of all experience levels.
 
Also Saturday, the BAAMS faculty presents master-class workshops for all ages, featuring Cinelu, Boulger, Boente, Lewis and bassist Nathan Peck.
